The Eco Warrior essay contest started when James Pribram visited the Costa Verde International School in Sayulita, Mexico and asked students there to participate in an essay contest on the topic of environmental preservation.

Costa Verde is Mexico’s first “green” school and encourages students and local residents to search for and solve problems relevant to their community.
